Tired of walking alone?
Want to meet other walkers?
Have an interest in a little bit of fitness?
Life offers more than a lonely walk on the odd occasion when you feel guilty that you are not being active enough or the pants are feeling a bit tight.
Walk the Walk is a group of walkers encouraging each other to turn up, get a little active and walk together while building friendships.
There is no business attached, no membership or payments, all you have to do is show up and take part.
The organiser Kerri, simply wants to encourage women in the area to get active and stay active with the benefit of building your social network of friends.
Here’s just a few excuses that you will no longer want to use:
Cold – Too cold outside today, I’m better off staying warm.
Rain – Rained last night, it’s drizzling, forecasted showers, look at those clouds.
Hot – Too hot to be out there, my shoes will melt to the pavement.
Bed – I’ll stay here for just a little longer – now I haven’t got time.
Kids – Have to get them ready, homework is not finished, can’t fit in exercise as well.
Time – Never enough time, I’m too rushed, I will be late if I try to fit it in.
Later – I’ll go this afternoon (or at least come up with another excuse then).
Given up – Why bother, this is how I am meant to look, I’ve got no energy.
Cost – I can’t afford the gym membership, it’s too expensive.
If you don’t look after yourself, no one else will. It is never too late to start getting active.
I can hear you say, they will all be too fit, slim, fast, bla, bla, bla. Enough with the excuses - get in touch with Kerri if you have any questions or simply show up, on time and we will be forging friendships and getting active.
Our motto: ‘No Excuses, just active friends’
